Victorian planning consultancy, Urban Planning Collective (UPco) expands into NSW.

After specialising in the Victorian market for more than 30 years, Urban Planning Collective (UPco) is expanding its geographical reach. The Melbourne-based town planning consultancy has announced that it has opened the doors to a new Sydney office, enabling the business to cater to the needs of new and existing clients across a broader range of locations.

“For some time, clients have been encouraging UPco to branch out into the NSW market, but we wanted to be considered in our approach,” stated Kel Twite, UPco Managing Director. “We’re pleased to have engaged a new Director to lead the Sydney office – someone who has spent their entire career in this market and brings enormous local knowledge to UPco. This means we feel confident UPco can immediately deliver the same high level of service to NSW clients that we’re known for in Victoria.”

UPco Sydney will be helmed by Daniel Howard, a highly skilled planner with more than 15 years of experience. Having worked in government and extensive private practice roles, Daniel has a deep understanding of the NSW planning system, and his experience encompasses strategic and statutory planning, advisory services, project management and stakeholder engagement. Complex and challenging sites are Daniel’s forte, particularly urban renewal and transformation projects across Sydney.

As in Victoria, UPco Sydney will offer a comprehensive range of advisory, project and expert representation services, including statutory planning advice and due diligence, State Significant Development Applications, local development applications, Planning Proposals and rezonings, master and precinct planning, design competition management, policy development and assessment services.
